My mission is to lead dance classes and workshops across the nation and globe to promote human liberation and wellness.

 Our ancestors danced…

Kierra Foster-Ba standing with her arms out and smiling really big.

They danced for healing, transformation, to create community, to unify the will in preparation for a hunt or to wage war.  They danced for ritual, for celebration, for artistic expression.  Our ancestors danced in every single part of the world.  We are each from a long line of ancestors who danced.  It is quite recent in human history that dancing is no longer an integral part of our lives.

Meet Your Dance Teacher

Kierra Foster-Ba has studied the 5Rhythms® with Gabrielle Roth, the founder, for 15+ years. Kierra appears in Gabrielle's Power Wave video and in the documentary "Dances of Ecstasy". She also dances with PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) an international organization of artists devoted to using belly dance to promote peace and end suffering.

“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: "When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?”

Our dance is not about what we look like, as our dance may be graceful or grace less and all that is between in any given moment as we tap into the wisdom of our bodies.

 The 5Rhythms®

The 5Rhythms®, a dance-based meditation practice, can be an essential part of integrating the shadow.  This body-based practice is both a philosophy and a powerful vehicle for human liberation.  In it, we dance with polarities.

One example is flowing vs. inertia.

We also practice deep permission and acceptance.

Our dance is not about what we look like, as our dance may be graceful or graceless, and all that is between in any given moment as we tap into the wisdom of our bodies.

I would love to share this practice with you!  I teach a weekly class online (Zoom!) every Wednesday, from 7-8 pm EST, at $15 per person.
